The Gaucho is the equivalent to the North American "Cowboy". Like the North American word cowboy, the term often connotes the 19th century more than the present day; then gauchos made up the majority of the rural population, herding cows and practicing hunting as their main economic activities.
Gaucho's were generally nomadic that lived on the pampas, the vast plains of the southern Brazil. Residing outside of the growing urban centers and farming settlements, these skilled riders lived off the land often willingly sharing their food with other travelers. A unique type of cooking meat was inspired by the gaúcho digging a pit on the ground and starting an open fire where were roasted large pieces of meat in large wood skewers that were shared in thin slices of each type of meat with all the persons around the fire. This feast was complemented with seasonal vegetable dishes using the products they farm.
Today at FUEGOVIVO we continue this tradition offering a memorable dining experience with all the ingredients in the traditional way the gauchos prepared their feast.
So, welcome to FUEGOVIVO where your dining experience will make you feel more than just a VIP!!!
